Alberto is an experienced operator and active investor in Latin America and the United States. Alberto began his career in real estate and is responsible for some of the best-known developments in Costa Rica. Whilst the group continues to be active in real estate, Alberto has expanded operations into renewable energy and other real asset associated businesses. Alberto is a Costa Rican citizen and has been an active member in various organizations such as CINDE (Costa Rica’s foreign investment promotion council), AMCHAM CR (The American Chamber of Commerce in Costa Rica), and the Urban Land Institute among others.

Richard has significant international experience in capital markets, private investments and business development and is responsible for the development and operations of the company. Richard is a British citizen who moved to Costa Rica from New York where he worked on a specialist team in J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank focused on hedge funds and private equity. Prior to his experience in New York, Richard worked for J.P. Morgan and for Morgan Stanley in London following six years in the British Army as an Officer in a reconnaissance regiment during which time he completed operational tours of both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kattia has significant experience in administration and finance and leads a team of accountants & administrators for the company. During her career, she has worked with some of the best known real estate developers in Costa Rica and has been with the group since 2014 working on the development of both real estate and renewable energy projects for Urban Partners and Gruman Resources.

Manuel leads Urban Partners, one of the leading real estate developers in Costa Rica focused on mixed use, retail and commercial projects. He began his career in 1988 as a construction engineer and joined Genesis Developers to develop Forum 1, the first business park in Costa Rica, in 1997. As a key member of Genesis, Manuel also developed Forum 2 office park and La Hacienda residential condominium. Prior to founding Urban Partners with Alberto, Manuel led a team at Portafolio Inmobiliario (Pinmsa), focused on the development of numerous projects such as Plaza Lincoln and Avenida Escazú.

Carlos leads Gruman Resources, a renewable energy developer & operator based and is responsible for the growth of the energy business through developments and acquisitions across the region. Since founding the business, Carlos has led the development, construction and operation of the Tilawind and Ventus wind projects in Costa Rica. Prior to founding Gruman Resources, Carlos was based in Brazil where he led USBA Brasil Ltda., a company dedicated to timber investment, forest project planning and forestry development.

Manuel leads project development for Gruman Resources. Prior to joining Gruman Resources, Manuel worked with the Costa Rica-based renewable energy firm Globeleq-Mesoamerica Energy (GME) for over five years as part of the Project Development group. He was involved in the successful development and construction of the majority of GME’s current operational assets comprising approximately 300MW of wind power projects. Manuel’s experience also includes having worked with Canadian construction and engineering firm SNC-Lavalin Inc. for over eleven years. He was part of the company’s Mass Transit group and the Mining group. During this time, Manuel worked in various leading roles in key projects such as the Vancouver City-Airport Metro Line and various mining developments in Argentina and Brazil.

Manuel leads our newest subsidiary, Genera Data Centers. Prior to establishing the business, Manuel was the President and CEO of GBM, one of Central America’s largest technology businesses. Manuel has nearly 30 years of experience operating in the technology sector in Central America & the Caribbean. During the past ten years, he led GBM’s significant business growth and helped them diversify their revenues streams into managed services which included the establishment of 7 data centers in the region.
